[edit] Brown Wheels

This article is part of the Advanced Brown Guide. Credit to entity for the concept.

[edit] Simple Wheels

  1. Build a simple triangle. [1]
  2. Add 4 perpendicular sticks to the triangle. [2]
  3. Add 4 more perpendicular sticks to the triangle. [3]
  4. Connect all 8 of the ends of the sticks attached to the triangle: [4]
  5. Add your weight, also add a stick to make the weight fall off the ledge, if necessary.[5] Don't start clicking 30-50 sticks, just use enough to counter the weight of whatever you are lifting.
  6. Add your chain, adjust for distance/height. [6]
  7. Add your basket, customize it however you see fit to win the level. [7]

[edit] Troubleshooting

  • My chain keeps phasing/getting stuck inside the wheel!
    • Like i said in step 2, you don't need a whole lot of weight, or this might happen. Also, if you make a guide for the chain, like this: [8] It will help prevent wheel phasing.
  • My wheel goes berserk like an exploding wheel glitch...?
    • Uh. If you're wheel spins for a long time, bad stuff happens. You'll see what i mean if you watch the contraption after it wins on Orangepeel's solution in the examples section. I'm afraid theres nothing i can do about it, that i know of.

[edit] Rectangle Elevators

Credit to entity for the concept. This is good because its hard to catapult rectangles directly upward into a slot, you can also do this design horizontally.

  1. Add weight and a timer of your choosing, I just let the weight hang on the edge like so. [17]
  2. Build your brown wheel on a triangle, as instructed in the last guide. (B-1) [18]
  3. Attach a chain from the weight and go around the wheel. [19]
  4. Build a column for the goal piece to go up, make sure you have a hole in the side so the goal piece can actually get in there. [20]
  5. Add a basket/platform for the goal piece; then connect a water rod from the far corner of the basket to the end of the chain. [21]
  6. Add whatever mechanism it takes to get the rectangle into the column. In this case its just a slope.[22]
  7. Attach water rods to the column for support, then tweak to win. [23]

[edit] Troubleshooting

  • Chain is phasing through the wheel..
    • Same answer as before, Delete some of your weight so the elevator doesn't go so fast. Its also better to have a gradual acceleration,

Example: instead of letting your weight fall for 15 seconds before it hits tension, make it so that the chain is tight the second the weight starts falling. this reduces jerking motion and should make things run a bit more smoothly.

  • My goal piece keeps falling out the hole it came in through when the elevator starts to go up.
    • Tilt the side of the basket opposite of the hole downward, so that when the rectangle comes in, it will lean the opposite direction of the hole.

Example: [24] See where the arrow is pointing toward?
