[edit] Lock this Page

Have you considered to lock the page? TheBOMB001 20:17, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

No one has vandalized it yet! --Sk89q 00:27, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
I don't think anyone would. --Darkeagle 15:41, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
What happens when FC becomes more popular? Wikipedia used to be small and fairly similar to this wiki in trafic, and it almost never got vandalized, so they never locked pages, using that same rational. Once FC is as popular as Line Rider, we'll need to lock pages and control vandalism. Plus, Wikipedia has Thousands of moderators. I think FC should adopt many of the ways of Wikipedia to become succesful and similar in quality. Don't get me wrong, I love the wiki, but it needs to pull its socks up. Zippy117 06:13, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Then we can lock pages then. Wikipedia didn't need to lock pages until it got popular, and so it didn't. Still no vandalism as of now too. --sk89q 22:54, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
First thing first, there is no reason to vandalize this page. Second if there are going to be moderators, sign me up! --Kertie309 8:54, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
Actually, this page would be a popular spamming location as it has the most views per day than any other page in the wiki. Also, the current sysops and I are working together at the moment to deal with a issue involving spam and bans being almost useless, so new sysops might be added at anytime if weasel or sk89q will add more (if they want...)--tes753 01:44, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I get you Tes753, but in what way would they vandalize it other then the level of the week? (or deleting everything) -- Kertie309 4:22, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
Let's wait until it is a problem. At present it will get reverted within 24 hours. -- Meconopsis 21:31, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

[edit] About the layout

Are we ever going to post announcements or events? It's not like anything eventful ever needs to be announced. I removed the original layout I made because it had too much text on the screen, and also because there was never news to post. --sk89q 01:28, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I see your point, what do you want there instead? Maybe featured level/user/wiki page?--Tes753 01:43, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I like what I had, because it was plain & simple. I don't know if you really want to have to change the featured level/user/wiki/etc. occasionally, because I don't think anyone else is really willing to. --sk89q 05:56, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
The reason why I didn't like the main page that you had is because I had to scroll down to view the whole page even with my really big computer screen. With my page, users do not have to scroll down to view content. I will *try* (and most likely will) update the main page with either a featured level/user/wiki/etc. every Wendsday. There are some times in the summer in which I will not be able to to this, but I'm sure someone wouldn't mind doing this.--Tes753 13:55, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
If you're going to do a level of the week, then it should not be a level that is in the top 200. --sk89q 19:33, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry, that's what I'm doing.--Tes753 19:47, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Workshop

This is not about the Main page - I couldn't think where better to put it though.

Wikipedia has its Village Pump, other wikis have equivalent discussion pages for discussing policy or ideas on how best to improve the wiki. I think we could do with such a thing here. May I suggest Fantastic Wiki:Workshop as a suitable page name. If it works it may need editing if folk vandalise it, but generally should get steadily larger as time goes by. Periodic trimming to an Archive page could be done. If this page existed then this is the sort of discussion that could occur there. It isn't a general FC chatroom - the forum and FC chatroom achieve that. It would be for FCWiki improvement (and indeed non-page specific 'argument'). Comments please. -- Meconopsis 22:57, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

  • The page sounds good, page requests and updates can be added to the actual page and discussion of each can be in the talk page, I'm assuming things such as updating solutions to levels and making all the level pages look alike will be on the page, but if you make a mock version it could become useful to the wiki, so make a version of it. -- Skips 14:59, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
    • I agree with Skips. Also, I might work on a new logo for the workshop. --Tes753 21:54, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
      • Good idea Meconopsis! -- Kertie309 8:57, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
